Meadow Park is now open

On Friday, June 9th, Mayor Carlo DeMaria announced that Private John Kearins Playground, also known as Meadows Park is now open to the public. The playground was totally funded by the DeMaria’s administration’s Capital Improvement Plan.

The renovation project included ADA accessible equipment, energy efficient lighting, checker tables, picnic tables, equipment for children up to the age of 12, and a water saving splash pad. The most drastic improvement is the overall beautification of the park, which includes formalized entrance areas, pergolas, ornamental fencing, and decorative lampposts.

Today, we honored Everett Police Department K-9 Unit member, Hart, on his retirement. His expertise in explosive and firearm detection has enhanced the City's ability to serve and protect, especially during the Boston Marathon bombings and the events that followed in Watertown. His dedication and service to our community is greatly appreciated! May you enjoy your well-deserved retirement years.

Independence Day Celebrations

Independence Day Celebrations at Glendale Park July 1st !


Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the City of Everett would like to remind all residents that the City’s Independence Day Celebration will be held this Saturday, July 1st beginning at 3:30 at Glendale Park.

This year Mayor DeMaria announced the addition of a grand finale fireworks show to close out the event. The firework show, which will be shot off at Glendale Park and timed to an exciting musical accompaniment, will be after sundown at approximately 9PM.

Mass Bay Credit Union Charitable Foundation Awards Four College-Bound Students with a $1,000 Scholarship

South Boston, MA – June 15, 2017– After reviewing dozens of exceptional candidate applications, The Mass Bay Credit Union Charitable Foundation has selected four graduating high school seniors to receive the 2017 College Scholarships. 

The awards, $1,000 to each recipient, go to: Noah Dolloff, Timberlane Region­al HS; Ashley Buggy, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School; Sydney Perryman, Tolland HS; and Lauren Critelli, Fontbonne Academy.

The City of Everett received a $16,500 grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to purchase the recycling bins through the Sustainable Materials Recovery Program.

Governor Baker Tours Wynn Resort Construction Site

 On Thurs., June 1st, Governor Baker toured the Wynn casino construction site along with Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Wynn Boston Harbor President Robert DeSalvio, State Senator Sal DiDomenico, State Representative Joseph McGonagle, and members of the Wynn team.

The $2.4 billion resort is the largest private, single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This site once housed the first Merrimac Chemical in the 1800s, and then later, the Monsanto plant operated there.

Field of Dreams at Fenway Park to benefit Greater Boston’s at-risk and underprivileged youth through the ABCD SummerWorks program.

Memorial on the Mystic

Memorial Week is capped off by a musical performance in the spirit of Memorial Day, providing a message of hope for our country and honoring those who gave their lives. Featured performers are the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, vocal ensemble N'Harmony, the Somerville All-City Chorus and the Somerville High School Chorus.

The evening will end with a fireworks display over the Mystic River, sponsored by Federal Realty Investment Trust and Wynn Boston Harbor.
